Your account

Delete your Mementa account.

You can delete your account and everything in it at any time, from any device, without installing anything. Here is how, and exactly what happens to your data.

Delete it yourself

Sign in to Mementa on the web or in the app, then open Settings › Privacy & security › Delete account.

Open Mementa on the web

Ask us to do it

Can't sign in, or don't have the app any more? Email us from the address on your account and we will delete it.

Email a deletion request

Deleting your account can't be undone. We can't restore deleted photos or videos, even if you ask us to.

Before you delete

How to delete your account

  1. Sign in.

On the web at photos.cloud-app.work.gd, or in the Android or iPhone app.

  2. Open Delete account.

Go to Settings › Privacy & security › Delete account. On a phone, Settings is in the Account tab.

  3. Confirm.

Read what will be deleted, type DELETE and choose Delete account. On iPhone, if you signed in with Apple, you are asked to confirm with Apple so we can disconnect Sign in with Apple.

  4. That's it.

You are signed out on every device. If you still have a Google Play or App Store subscription, the app reminds you to cancel it in the store.

What is deleted, and what we keep

Deletion starts as soon as you confirm, and your library is gone from every device straight away. For a very large library, removing every file from storage can take a little longer to finish in the background.

Deleted right away

  • All your photos and videos: the original files and the smaller copies we make for viewing.
  • Your albums, favourites and descriptions, and any photos you added to other people's shared albums.
  • Share links, which stop working, and partner sharing.
  • People, face groups, places and search data.
  • Your profile photo, and your Google, Apple or email sign-in.
  • Your sessions and registered devices: you are signed out everywhere.
  • The renewal of a plan you pay for on the web (Razorpay).

What we keep, and why

  • A closed-account record. Your email address, your name and the dates the account was opened and deleted, so we can show that the account was closed and answer questions about past payments.
  • Payment records. Your plan, amounts, dates and payment references, for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
  • Security logs. Records of security events and of actions in our admin panel, including the deletion itself, for as long as the law requires.
  • Backups, for up to 30 days. Our nightly database backups hold account details, your profile photo and information about your photos, such as dates, places and face groups, but not the photos or videos themselves. They are deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Copies outside Mementa. Photos that people downloaded from what you shared are theirs, and we cannot delete them. Google and Apple keep their own records of app store purchases.

We are still confirming these retention periods with a lawyer. This page will state them before Mementa launches.

Delete some photos, not your account

Select photos or videos in Mementa and move them to the trash. They are deleted for good when the trash is emptied, and then stop counting toward your storage. You can also delete albums and share links on their own.

If you can't sign in

Email support@yourdomain.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We may reply to that address to check that the request really comes from you, and we will email you once the account is deleted.

If you can no longer use that email address, write anyway and explain. Before we delete anything, we will ask for details that only the account owner would know.
